Woodblock printed double-page illustration made in a period between 1854 and 1860 by the artist Koikawa Shozan (恋川笑山) and depicting two ladies who, during the flowering of the sakura (桜), are conversing next to a lantern clock in a refined palace environment decorated with floral motifs.

The work is taken from vol. 1 (上) of a shunga (春画) erotic book entitled “A Japanese Version of the Life of the Buddha, Continued” (釈花八粧続矢的文庫).

The print on Japanese washi paper (和紙), despite the right signs of aging, is in good general condition.
